DOMESTIC ABUSE COUNSELLING

PROVIDED BY DAISY

COUNSELLING

Counselling within the Daisy Programme has been in place since 2016.  Our Programme Director realised that as clients come into the service they are individuals requiring different support mechanisms.  We also recognised that if a client is receiving our support via other interventions it made sense to provide counselling too.  This builds on our ethos of looking at the 'whole' person when working with the 3 stage model of recovery.

What is counselling?

“To give advice to (a person) on social or personal problems, especially professionally.” and. “the process of assisting and guiding clients, especially by a trained person on a professional basis, to resolve especially personal, social, or psychological problems and difficulties.”

Currently we offer counselling to a smaller number of clients who require more focussed support.  We offer 6 sessions initially up to a maximum of 18 sessions of counselling.

"Counselling with Daisy has made such a difference.

I am gaining confidence, due to start work and a law degree next year. I am also actively involved with the Daisy Programme supporting the wonderful work they do."

"I seriously feel I owe the confident and stable future I now look forward to, to the Daisy Programme and it's invaluable support it has, and continues to give me."
